Delete your data

Delete an item, empty the trash, delete your account or a whole workspace yourself, and know exactly what each one removes.

Deleting is self-service. There is no request form and nobody to ask.

Delete an item#

Move an item to Trash from its page or the Knowledge list. It leaves search, the graph and memory at once and waits in the Trash tab for 30 days, when it is purged automatically. Choose Restore to bring it back before then. To remove one item immediately, purge it from the Trash.

A purge removes the item's text, passages, embeddings, graph entries and files. If the workspace is under a legal hold, purging waits. You can delete anything you own; Admins can delete any item in the workspace.

Delete your account#

Open Settings, then Security, and choose to delete your account. Breno first shows a preview of what it would do: the address you will have to type, the workspaces involved, how much private content will go, and anything that blocks it (for example, being the only Owner of a workspace).

To confirm you type your email address, plus a code from your authenticator app if two-factor authentication is on. Then:

  • Your private items, their versions and their derived data are purged.
  • Items you added to the workspace are kept for the workspace, with the author shown as "Added by a former member".
  • Your profile and sign-in data are removed, and your personal tokens stop working at once.

Delete a workspace#

An Owner can delete a whole workspace under Settings, then Security, by typing the workspace name to confirm. Deleting it removes everything in it, through a single database operation that reaches every table carrying the workspace's data, the files in object storage, its graph, and its cached data. Anything that could not be reached is recorded as a leftover rather than ignored. A deletion receipt is written and emailed, and the receipt itself cannot be edited or removed.

Export first#

Before deleting, consider taking a copy. See Export your knowledge.
